SOUTH
BEACH, FL- Last night RBI Strategies and Research, a Denver-based
political consulting firm, won top honors at the 2007 “Pollie Awards”
ceremony. This was the first time in RBI’s 22-year history they have
chosen to submit their work to the “Pollies.”
RBI took honors (along with Flying Brick Radio)
for “Best Radio Ad in an Independent Expenditure Campaign for Congress”
for the ad “Pombo Mambo” that ran in California’s eleventh
congressional district. Pombo, a long-time opponent of rational public
lands policies, was narrowly defeated by Democrat Jerry McNerny in one
of the most-watched congressional races in the country. The League of
Conservation Voters Action Fund hired RBI Strategies to devise creative
media that could break through the clutter in a race that was on the
top of the target list for nearly every group in the country and was
besieged by independent expenditure advertising.
